Current Career

Karl is licensed as a Certified Hypnotist in the State of Indiana, which has the most stringent legal requirements in the country for that profession.  He specializes in Smoking Cessation and Weight Management, and works with clients with a variety of other issues. He is a certified member of the National Guild of Hypnotists.

Karl is an Accredited Senior Executive Associate of the Institute for Independent Business and founded the Zimmer Advisory Group International to better serve business owners and leaders.  He also earned a certificate in Public Policy Mediation.

Karl is the founder of Profit in Harmony® and RULE®. Karl is also a Reiki Master, which he pursued because of Reiki's profound contribution to his recovery from a motorcycle (dirt bike) accident in 1999.

Karl currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Villages and is interim President of Joyful Living (see Favorite Charities). Karl also serves on the Advisory Board of the Indiana Center for Intercultural Communication at IUPUI.

Early Career

After a variety of jobs, which were of little challenge, Karl joined the family business, Zimmer Paper Products Incorporated, in 1975. He worked his way through the organization and gained experience in every functional area. He worked as a cost accountant, a QC technician, installed and operated the company's first computer, and worked in technical sales as a Product Manager. After serving as Operations Manager, Karl became President and COO in 1988.

Karl was elected CEO by the Board of Directors in 1993 following the successful acquisition of a highly regarded competitor. With a team of dedicated managers, Karl merged the best of both companies to build one of the most successful, private specialty packaging companies in America.

Karl initiated a number of community activities at his company, including delivering Meals on Wheels and tutoring children at an Indianapolis Public School as part of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce's Business in Education program. Karl also served on the Mayor's Task Force for Existing Business in Indianapolis.

Karl was a Founding Director of The Alliance, an association of Indiana business owners and presidents affiliated with the Indiana University Graduate School of Business (Kelley School of Business). Karl served on the Board of Directors of TLMI (Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute), the leading industry association.

Changed Forever

Karl was "tapped on the shoulder" while in his office, one day, and that changed Karl's life, forever. Karl is sharing his broad experience and his spiritual awareness with others so that they may realize their dreams.

Karl founded and was the first President of Executive Limousines Indianapolis, LLC, which continues to serve Central Indiana residents, organizations, and visitors. Karl sold the company in order to devote all his time to pursuing his passion and his life's mission, which is what he is doing, now.

The Very Early Years

Karl was born in Queens, New York and moved to Denmark before he was three. When Karl was four, he and his family moved to the Netherlands, where they lived until Karl was nearly ten years old, at which time they moved back to New York. After just one year in New York, the family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where Karl stayed until he graduated from high school.

Karl moved to Tacoma, Washington, where he attended the University of Puget Sound. His studies then took him to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and back to Indianapolis. Karl is member of Class XXX of the Wabash Executive Program at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
